Scientific Calculator FAQ
Everything you need to know about using this online scientific calculator.
Use the DEG / RAD toggle above the display. In DEG mode, trigonometric functions like sin, cos and tan treat the number you enter as degrees. In RAD mode they treat it as radians. Switching the toggle recalculates your current expression automatically.
It supports sin, cos, tan and their inverse functions asin, acos and atan, plus log (base 10), ln (natural log), square root, powers using the ^ key, factorial using the ! key, percentage, and the constants pi and e. Standard arithmetic operators and parentheses for grouping are also supported.
Yes. Parentheses work exactly as in standard mathematical notation, so an expression like (2+3)*sin(45) is evaluated with the bracketed part calculated first, following normal operator precedence for everything else.
Factorial (the ! key) is only defined for non-negative integers in this calculator. Entering a negative number or a decimal before ! will return an error, since factorial has no standard elementary definition for those values here.
Yes, it is completely free to use with no sign-up. All calculations run directly in your browser using JavaScript, nothing is sent to a server, and nothing is stored once you close or refresh the page.
