Batch Cooking FAQ

Everything you need to know about planning, timing, and optimising your air fryer meal prep.

To calculate batch cooking times, divide your total desired servings by the number of servings your air fryer can hold in a single layer. Multiply this number of batches by your prep time per batch and cook time per batch to get the total time required for your meal prep session.

It is generally not recommended to stack food densely in an air fryer, as it blocks the crucial hot airflow and leads to uneven, soggy results. For best results, arrange food in a single layer. If you must stack, shake or flip the basket vigorously halfway through the cooking time.

Most cooked air fryer meals can be stored in airtight containers in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days. For longer storage, you can freeze them for up to 3 months. Reheat directly in the air fryer at a lower temperature (e.g., 160°C) for a few minutes to restore the crispy texture.

For family batch cooking, an air fryer with a capacity of 5.5 litres or larger (often labeled as 6L to 8L) is ideal. This size can typically accommodate 4 to 6 servings of most foods in a single batch, significantly reducing the total number of batches and overall cooking time required.
