Broadband cost is calculated by adding your monthly subscription fee over the full contract length, plus any one-off setup or activation fees and ongoing equipment rental charges, then dividing by the number of months to get an average monthly cost.
Many broadband providers offer a discounted promotional price for an introductory period, after which the price reverts to the standard rate for the remainder of the contract term. This is often called an out-of-contract or standard price increase.
The total cost typically includes the monthly line rental or subscription fee for every month of the contract, any one-off setup or activation charges, and optional router or equipment rental fees if these are not bundled into the monthly price.
