Date Calculator FAQ
Answers to the most frequently asked questions about calculating time between dates, business days, and inclusive counting.
To calculate the time between two dates, subtract the start date from the end date. This gives you the total difference in milliseconds, which can then be converted into days, weeks, months, and years. Our calculator handles leap years and varying month lengths automatically for precise calendar-based results.
By default, date calculations exclude the end date (e.g., the time between Monday and Wednesday is 2 days). However, you can check the ‘Include End Date’ option in our calculator to make it inclusive, which is useful for booking accommodations, counting leave days, or calculating total days of an event.
Business days (or working days) are calculated by counting only the weekdays (Monday through Friday) between the start and end dates, automatically excluding Saturdays and Sundays. Please note that public or bank holidays are not automatically excluded, as they vary significantly by country and region.
Yes. The calculator provides a precise breakdown of years, months, and remaining days. It accounts for the varying number of days in each month (28, 29, 30, or 31) and leap years, giving you an accurate calendar-based duration rather than a simple mathematical average.
