Bank Statement Calculator FAQ
Everything Pakistani students ask before submitting their UK Student visa financial evidence in 2026.
UKVI requires proof of living costs (maintenance funds) plus any unpaid tuition fees. From 2025-26, maintenance is £1,529 per month if studying in London or £1,171 per month outside London, capped at 9 months. This is added to your remaining first-year tuition fee shown on your CAS, then converted to PKR at the prevailing exchange rate.
The monthly maintenance rate (London or outside London) is the same for both levels. The difference usually comes from course length: undergraduate degrees are 3-4 years so you only need to show 9 months of funds, while some postgraduate courses run for less than 9 months, in which case UKVI lets you calculate funds for the actual remaining course length instead of the full 9-month maximum.
Your bank statement or bank letter must show the required balance held for a consecutive 28-day period, and the closing balance date must not be more than 31 days old when you submit your Student visa application. The balance must not drop below the required amount at any point during those 28 days.
The calculator uses an editable exchange rate field pre-filled with an approximate market rate. Because GBP/PKR rates change daily, you should check the live interbank or your bank’s rate before submitting your visa application, and enter that figure into the calculator for an accurate PKR total.
No. The Student visa application fee and the Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) are paid online during your visa application and are not required to be shown as held funds. This calculator includes them as optional reference figures only, so you can budget your total costs in PKR.
Yes. If a parent or legal guardian is providing the funds, you need their bank statements covering the 28-day period plus a signed letter of parental consent confirming the money is available for your studies. The account must be with a financial institution regulated by an appropriate authority.
