Pallet Calculator FAQ
Answers to the most common questions about pallet stacking, box counts, weight limits, and shipping configurations.
The number of boxes on a standard pallet depends on box size and stacking height. A standard UK pallet (1200×1000mm) typically holds between 40 and 80 medium-sized boxes. Use the pallet calculator above to get an exact figure based on your specific box dimensions and allowed height.
Standard wood pallets typically hold up to 1,000–1,500 kg (2,200–3,300 lbs). Euro pallets (EPAL) are rated to 1,500 kg dynamically and 4,000 kg statically. Always check the pallet’s load rating and your carrier’s weight limits before loading.
A standard UK/US pallet measures 1200×1000mm (47×40 in), while a euro pallet (EPAL) measures 1200×800mm (47×31 in). Euro pallets are narrower, fitting standard European truck widths and racking systems. Standard pallets offer more floor area, useful when shipping square cartons.
Divide the maximum stacking height by the height of one box. For example, if your max height is 1200mm and each box is 200mm tall, you get 1200 ÷ 200 = 6 layers. In practice, subtract pallet board height (≈145mm) from the total before dividing.
Yes, rotating boxes 90 degrees can significantly increase how many fit per layer. The calculator tests both orientations automatically and uses whichever packs more efficiently. For non-square boxes, rotation almost always improves pallet utilisation.
