Understanding Your Pay Award
Your new NHS salary depends on more than just the headline percentage. Here is how the calculation works.
Start From Your 2025/26 Pay Point
Your current salary depends on your band and how far you’ve progressed through its pay points based on years of service.
Apply the Consolidated Uplift
The 3.3% award (or 3.75% in Scotland) is applied directly to your base salary as a permanent increase, not a one-off bonus.
Add Any High Cost Area Supplement
Staff working in and around London receive an additional percentage on top of their basic salary, which also rises with the pay award.
Pro-Rate for Your Contracted Hours
Part-time staff receive the same percentage increase, scaled down proportionally to their contracted hours against a full-time 37.5-hour week.
