Shoe Size Conversion FAQ
Everything you need to know about converting EU shoe sizes to CM foot length and getting the perfect fit.
To convert an EU shoe size to a CM foot length, subtract 2 from the EU size and then divide by 1.5. For example, an EU size 40 minus 2 is 38, divided by 1.5 equals a foot length of approximately 25.3 cm.
An EU size 42 shoe corresponds to a foot length of approximately 26.7 cm. In general sizing terms, this is typically a men’s size, though this can vary slightly depending on the brand and the shoe last used.
Stand on a piece of paper against a wall, with your heel touching the wall. Mark the tip of your longest toe, then measure the straight-line distance from the wall to that mark in centimetres. Measure both feet in the evening, when they are largest, and use the bigger measurement.
They do not run smaller; EU sizes use the Paris point system, where each whole size equals roughly two-thirds of a centimetre of internal shoe length, including some fitting allowance beyond your actual foot length.
