The full New State Pension for the 2025/26 tax year is £230.25 a week, which works out at roughly £11,973 a year. This applies to people who reach State Pension age on or after 6 April 2016.

You generally need 35 qualifying years of National Insurance contributions or credits to receive the full New State Pension. You need a minimum of 10 qualifying years to receive any State Pension at all, and between 10 and 35 years your pension is calculated proportionally.
