Accumulator Betting FAQ

Answers to the most frequently asked questions about football accumulator bets.

A football accumulator, or ‘acca’, is a single bet that combines multiple selections into one wager. All selections must win for the bet to pay out, but the odds of each selection multiply together, which can produce a much larger potential return from a small stake.

To calculate accumulator odds, convert each selection’s odds to decimal format and multiply them all together to get the combined odds. Your potential return is then your stake multiplied by the combined odds.

If any single selection in a standard accumulator loses, the entire bet loses, regardless of how the other selections perform. This is different from bet types like doubles or trebles placed separately, or system bets, which can still return a profit if not every selection wins.

Some bookmakers offer accumulator insurance promotions that refund your stake as a free bet if exactly one selection in your accumulator loses. Terms, eligible bet types and maximum refund amounts vary significantly between bookmakers, so it’s worth checking the specific promotion.
